Strolling in Burnham

Here's my last post for my Baguio Adventures. I know, it is long overdue but better late than never right? :)

If you have ample time to spare and you just want to relax and enjoy Baguio, then you should head out to Burnham Park and enjoy the scenery.
You can ride a boat at the lake, rent a bicycle, play at the fountain or just sit down somewhere and watch the tourists pass by. :)

Baguio Food Trip

Visiting Baguio will never be complete without experiencing the local Diners and Restaurants. So when we visited last month, we made it a point to eat in local restaurants and that meant no fast foods or restaurants that can be found in the metro.

First stop, 50's Diner. Located at Leonard Wood Road, 50's Diner is one of the restaurants that you must try. There American style serving, 50's feel, sumptuous food, fast service and a menu that is good for the budget is highly recommended.

We ordered the "You and I" which is a deep fried ground beef and ground chicken topped with tartar and mayo sauce ala Croquet.

And I ordered the "Guys on the Hood" which is a combination of pork chop, slice pizza, chicken, spaghetti and garlic bread served with fried and vegetables.
All in all, we paid about 400php for this whole meal (including the shakes). Not bad eh?

Ready to Sizzle? Nothing Beats the Old Sizzle of Sizzling Plate Baguio.

They offer Pinoy favorites like Grilled Pork Chop, Chicken Barbeque, Boneless Bangus, Sisig and others sizzling hot on the plate.

The native interior is also very cozy.

And they also offer a complementary soup. :)

We paid a total of 335php for this hearty meal (no drinks).

Burrrrrpppppppppppp. Pardon me but these foods were just too good to pass up. And besides, Diet was on a hiatus that weekend. Teehee.

I really enjoyed the food. I hope you did too. :)

Sunny Day

Top : Thrifted | Skirt : Thrifted | Belt : Hanbee Store |
 Bag : St.Francis Square | Sandals : Parisian

Let us take a break from all the Baguio trip posts for a while (sorry but there are 3 more posts) and let me share with you what I wore to church last Sunday.

Thankfully, Mr. Sun has now made a comeback after a few days of being MIA. I hope that everyone was safe during the storm. Don't worry, we will bounce back. After all, we Filipinos are waterproof di ba?

On a sour note, I lost my phone yesterday. :( It was stolen from my bag while I was walking along a crowded market. So to my friends, if you receive texts from me, well, it is not me anymore.

I hope I can find a replacement soon and that my budget will allow it. Because I can live without Television but I surely can't live without a phone. :(

How was your long weekend?

Cold as You

Knowing what to expect, I really planned (chos) and looked for items that I can wear on the cold Baguio weather and at the same time, is not that thick so when the weather gets hot, I won't be sweating like crazy.

I was so happy when I found this white jacket at a thrift store prior to our Baguio trip. It is the perfect protection against the cool Baguio Weather.

I paired it with this orange cropped top and this high waist pants so if it gets hot, I can just easily slip off my jacket.

Jacket: Thrifted | Cropped top: Borrowed from sister |
Acid Washed pants: Vixen from SM Department Store | Shoes: Forever21

On our 2nd day, I wore the jacket again (boo for no baggage hindering me from bringing another heavy item) and paired it with this gray striped body fitting dress. I might seem weather impaired (totally unprotected knees) but the weather in Baguio are not that freezing anymore in mid day and we were already going back to Manila that afternoon.

Gray Striped Dress: Thrifted, Online Shop | Bag: Heartstrings | Watch: Casio Vintage Watch

Finally, I want you all to meet the new addition to our Family, my nephew, Michael Castiel Carpio. Our new little angel. :)

Mines View Park

Mines View Park, so called for its view of the Benguet's gold and copper mine is one of the famous tourist spots in Baguio.

What to do in Mines View Park?

1.) Take a picture with this ginormous St. Bernard dog for only 50php per 5shots.

2.) Rent a costume and play dress up as a native Igorot for 10php per person.

3.) Take a picture riding a horse for 10php. Sadly, I hadn't bothered on taking a picture with the horses because I thought that we will have a chance later to experience horseback riding. As it turned out,the cost for horseback riding was higher than what we expected so no horseback riding for me. :(

4.) Shop for delicacies and souvenir items at stalls located at the entrance. They offer Strawberry Jam, Ube Jam, Peanut Brittles, brooms, knitted cardigans, souvenir shirts and more.

5.) Lastly, enjoy the panoramic view of the Benguet Mines.

How to get there:
You can ride a taxi in going there with a flag down rate of 35php and 2php/succeeding meter. We paid 89php from Camp Allen (where we stayed) to Mines View Park.
Or if you want to save money and commute, there are also jeepneys going there. Just go to Mabini Street near corner Session Road across McDonald's and you'll see jeepneys with "Baguio Plaza-Mines View VV" signs.
I hope you enjoyed Mines View Park as much as I did. :)
